No fancy web site, no fancy packaging and no middlemen mean massive savings for you.

How does Termalert® work ?
You install monitors outside your home.
Termalert® does not attract termites towards your home.
Absolutely no termite monitor in existance can actually attract termites.
When termites encounter the monitor they begin to feed and form a micro-nest.
Their arrival and occupation is seen as mud under the window at the top of the monitor.
You call a pestman to come out and discuss methods to eliminate main ( hidden ) termite nest.
DIY termite treatment is not recommended.

Saves you thousands of dollars.
One system out there has been proven an overpriced dog but if you believe that spending thousands
is the way to go then who am I to stop you. Good luck to you if you have that kind of money to burn.
It works as well as ANY other system.
ALL inground termite detection systems are equal because none of them can actually attract termites.
Most manufacturers 'infer' that their monitors 'attract' but the fact is termites simply run into monitors during
their relentless exploration for food and water. This is a failing common to all systems but in the absence of
persistant chemicals in 'homogenous' barriers, inground detection systems are the best means we have of
detecting and treating termites as they approach our homes ( underground ).
It is easy to install.
If you are worried about where to place them just get a pest man in to show you where.
It might surprise you to know that pest men often move those expensive monitors around.
There is no such thing as a perfect installation point. Termite control is still a mix of art and science.
The pest man will help because he will get the treatment job when the time comes. You'll still be thousands in front.
Installation through concrete is easier & cheaper.
The monitors are designed to go into the soil and present themselves to exploring termites.
If concrete happens to be in the way it can cost a small fortune to install other monitors.
For large holes you need to engage the services of a core drilling specialist and his rig.
DIY TERMALERT® has a smaller diameter, making installation through concrete a simple DIY job.
It's the easiest to inspect for termite activity.
No more crouching down, removing caps and peering into dark places trying to guess if it's termites.
This zero-touch inspection method ensures that there is absolutely no disturbance to active termites.
A few minutes to inspect 24 monitors while strolling around your yard. You see all white and it's all clear.
The difference is brown and white.
If you see a nice white area through the viewing window then just stroll on by.
If the window turns a dirty brown it means termites are active inside the monitor and
it's time to call the pest man in.
NO NEED TO REMOVE COVERS

The monitor casings can last for years.
All that is needed is periodic bait replacement.
Specially treated bait elements.
The special triple element bait is very easy to assemble and install inside the monitor casing.

Secure 3 elements with a rubber band and insert into
monitor casing. Another rubber band can hold the triple bait
in place while you install the monitors. Soil settlement will
prevent any possible movement later.

Think of termite baits just like fishing baits. Silly really because they don't attract. It's just what they are called.
Each bait element ( the part inside the monitor casing ) is specially treated to encourage termites to stay and eat.
There are 'lay in wait' killing systems out there and they start out cheap. One problem is that each killing element
usually needs replacing monthly. The main problem is that they don't work anyway.
It's much cheaper to have a monitor disclose activity THEN apply treatments to the active termites.
Easily replaceable bait elements.
Any bait in the soil will decay over a period of time. How long it takes will depend on your soil conditions.
Simply remove the monitor every 6 months or so and look for decay. If present simply replace the triple bait.
A full set of 24 ( triple baits ) is currently $29.95 ( including delivery ).
Active monitors become termiticide delivery systems.
Active termites within a monitor can be used a delivery vehicles, distributing termiticide back to the main nest.
This is a job for a qualified pest man. It is very strongly suggested that you do not buy chemicals and attempt
a DIY termite elimination. I am working on a DIY killing system but it is at least 12 months away. Remember that
it is not simply a matter of dumping some magic solution or powder into an active monitor. If you have no financial
choice and must attempt a DIY elimination please read the labelling very carefully. A clumsy attempt can result
in a cessation of termite activity in the monitor which may only mean you scared them off in another direction.
The next time they pop up it could be 'inside' your home.
Specially designed inspection window.
Each window incorporates a specially designed hinge which keeps other insects out. When the time comes for
the pest man to carry out the treatment phase, the window can easily be opened using a common household pin.
No chance of the usual termite disturbance you get when trying to remove a jammed lid on other types of monitor.
No fancy packaging.
Why pay so much extra for fancy packaging ( rubbish bin fodder ) unless, of course, you collect packaging.
Buy directly from the manufacturer.
Ever wondered how some systems can cost $40.00 - $100.00 PER MONITOR ?
One of the main reasons is a string of middlemen and their respective profits margins.
Everyone is entitled to make money but sometimes the profit margins can be a little unreasonable.
No expensive production tooling is used.
I don't have to factor in the high tooling costs for plastic injection molding.
DIY Termalert® is produced by modifying materials of existing manufacture. No expensive custom
designed toolings. Just off the shelf equipment used in very innovative ways.
Gives you a chance to detect and treat termites early.
Statistically, termites are active inside homes for 4 years before routine inspections pick them up.
Of course detection is a good thing but 4 years of termite activity can take a huge bite out of your savings.
Detection and treatment before they invade your home will keep your property value high.
An 'internal' termite history can shatter an asking price IF any prospective buyers hang around long enough.
Termite damage repair is classified as 'maintenance' by insurance companies and will not be covered
under any circumstances. Ring your insurance company and TRY to get termite damage cover.
Proudly 100% Australian made & Owned.
Just as everything you buy should be ( if possible ).

Let's say you find the world's best termite inspector. He does his job and hands you his written report.

The report , in plain english, says -
' I couldn't see any active termites and accept no liability
for termites in areas I couldn't SEE '
( this is basically inside EVERY wall plus any area behind furniture )

The report further states, in plain english -
' For areas not inspected an invasive inspection is recommended '
( this means cutting sections out of walls or drilling large holes and you paying for the restoration cost )
Invasive inspections usually cost around $1000.00 PLUS repairs.

I am NOT pest man bashing but simply pointing out that they aren't perfect.
These mere humans are up against creatures that have over 200 million
years of genetic experience at concealment.

Things that make me laugh :-
Supposed experts saying that termites hate sunlight.
Termites are as blind as wingless bats ( without their sonar ). It's not the sun they hate. It's being exposed to low
humidity environments outside the confines of their climate controlled habitats. Those mud tubes they travel in
are designed to maintain a high humidity environment and to keep predators out ( NOT sunlight ).
A supposed expert stating he has the highest termite qualifications in Australia.
Outside of his own web sites, this person simply does not exist. His name only brings up references to plant species.
Perhaps he obtained his qualifications on the web and is a plant that lives on top of Mount Kosciusko .

Termite attacks happen much more often than you hear about.
It doesn't only happen to the few homes you see on TV from time to time.
There was probably an attack in your street recently but would you really
expect the homeowner to run up and down a street shouting things like
" Great news !! Termites have attacked my home !! "
" Please feel free to knock $20,000 off my house value !! "
" I just can't wait to scare off any potential buyers "
They'll most likely get the repairs done quietly, hope no one finds out
and risk being dragged into court after a sale ( for non-disclosure ).

DIY TERMALERT® MONITORS
Maximum 2-3 metre between installed monitors.
Average coverage is usually achieved using 24 stations. Not all areas may need monitoring.
More effective coverage is achieved with closer spacings. The only reason 2-3 metres has been
recommended for years is due to cost. At 1 metre spacings the usual systems would cost nearly $10,000
to install and $100.00 per regular professional inspection ( usually monthly in high risk areas ).
The monitor casings can last many years in shaded areas ( which are also the best termite hunting zones ).
You only need to replace the treated baits from time to time ( 6 - 12 months depending on your soil ).
Currently, a pack of 24 x specially treated replacement triple baits is only $29.95 delivered Australia wide.
ALL termite monitoring systems require periodical bait replacement. The only variable is price.
* Easy to follow assembly & installation instructions.
* FREE email reminder service ( only at your request ).

Each monitor measures
approximately 30mm x 170mm

Termites normally forage at a depth of 100mm - 150mm.

Inspection
Regularly inspect for signs of termite activity.
The frequency of inspection depends on termite
activity in your area. In areas of high activity
inspect at 2 weekly intervals.

When mud appears inside the window it means
termites have set up home in the monitor.

When termite activity is seen you should call in
the pest man to handle the elimination phase.
DIY termite treatment is NOT recommended no
matter how many magic chemicals are currently
available for sale to the public. Buying the best
golf club will not make you a Tiger. You need to
learn 'how' to use the club properly.

Following now the fine print. Every system comes with fine print so please don't hold this stuff against me.
One USA manufacturer claimed their in-ground system was ALL a home owner required. He was sued to the ground by home owners who had lost their homes to termites.
